Rallycross – 2018 calendar revealed, Silverstone and Austin planned

The calendar for the 2018 World Championship season rallycross (World RX) was revealed Tuesday morning. Main novelty, two meetings are appearing in complexes of Formula 1 : Silverstone (Great Britain, May 26 and 27) and Austin (United States, September 29 and 30). They replace the rounds at Lydden Hill (Great Britain) and Hockenheim (Germany).

Twelve tests are planned. The season will begin as in 2017 with a visit to Barcelona (Spain) in mid-April, followed by Portugal in Montalegre two weeks later. The Belgians are not forgotten with Saturated in May, preceding the new excursion to Silverstone. During the summer, no changes are to be reported with the Nordic tour at Hell (Norway) then Covered (Sweden), rallycross lands.

The caravan will cross the Atlantic Ocean for the traditional weekend in Trois-Rivières in Quebec (Canada), before returning to Brittany on the route of Lohéac, September 1 and 2. Latvia is renewed on the calendar at Riga, before the trip to Austin. Finally, the pilots have not finished adapting to the time difference, since at the German round ofester ring will follow the final in South Africa, Postcode End of november.

The European rallycross championship will accompany the Volkswagens of Petter Solberg and the Peugeot by Sébastien Loeb on five occasions: in Spain, Belgium, Sweden, France and Latvia. The calendar reserved for RX2, the championship won by Frenchman Cyril Raymond over the past two years, will be revealed later this fall.
