Samuel Peu had already dominated the two qualifying heats of the first day of the meeting organized at the weekend in Mayenne, and had taken the right path towards a second title of French Champion of Rallycross.
The pilot of the Peugeot 208 was then ahead of Philippe Maloigne (Renault Clio) and Jean-Sébastien Vigion (Citroën DS3). Second in the two Sunday qualifying rounds behind David Meslier (Citroën DS3) and Fabien Chanoine (Renault Clio), Samuel Peu emerged victorious in his semi-final against Vigion before dominating him in the final, David Olivier (Dacia Logan) finishing 3rd.
Samuel Peu thus won his second national title in the premier category even before the Dreux final, after that of 2011 obtained with a Peugeot 207. It is also the sixth national crown in all categories combined for the driver from Varades.
“I don’t prefer to set out with goals in mind, admitted shortly before the start of the season. With experience, I realized that we could quickly become disillusioned. Despite everything, we will try to fight up front as we have always tried to do! I'm not making plans on the comet. » A philosophy that worked well.
