A field of 20 cars in eRX2 for the first season

The FIA ​​has confirmed that the final field for the first season of eRX2, namely 2021, will consist of 20 cars. As a reminder, this series will replace the current RX2 next year.

The cars of this new electric generation will be more powerful (+24%) and will develop more torque (+14%) than its RX2 predecessors explains the FIA ​​in its press release.

The drivers will have to manage different parameters during the race weekends. adding an additional technical element » to discipline. From their cockpit, they will be able to choose the amount of torque developed by the front and rear motors, the torque of the four wheels when starting and the amount of energy recovered when braking.

The entire cost of the entry for a season is between 150.000 and 160.000 euros. This includes the services of a mechanic trained by electrical specialist QEV Technologies per car and an engineering department consisting of a chassis engineer and another electrical engineer. The latter two will be made available to four cars in particular.

The 2021 season calendar will be revealed soon. Six events are planned next year for the debut of the eRX2.
