A well-stocked list of participants for Riga

The ninth round of the World Championship rallycross (World RX) planned near the capital of Latvia in Riga (September 15-16) will be rich in 20 competitors in the Supercar category. In addition to the 15 regular participants of the 2018 season, five freelancers will be added, some of them well-known in the automotive sector.

First of all, at EKS Audi Sport, we will be happy to welcome back the Swiss Nico Müller. The Audi driver in DTM surprised World RX with an encouraging sixth position in the final, acquired in Riga last year for what was only its second participation in the discipline.

The MJP Racing Team Austria will enter two Ford Fiestas, one for the Finn Topi Heikkinen and the second mount for the Austrian Alexander Wurz. Ce dernier avait été conquis par sa première expérience avec le World RX à Hell (Norvège) début juin ; l’ancien pilote Toyota en WEC will seek to gain experience.

Another driver from the Circuit, Timo Scheider will alone defend the interests of Münnich Motorsport through a particularly recalcitrant Seat Ibiza in Lohéac (Ille-et-Vilaine). The double DTM champion had retired three times during the four qualifying rounds in Brittany.

The GC Compétition, yet delighted of Liam Doran's return to Lohéac, has not yet confirmed the identity of the boss-pilot's teammate Guerlain Chichers. Oliver Bennett will be back on BMW Mini Cooper.
