Video. When Loeb and Hansen tackle Alpe d’Huez

The climb to Alpe d'Huez (Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes) is well known to cycling enthusiasts. The Tour de France has made it one of its highlights since the first ascent in 1952. But on this autumn day, the bikes gave way to two super-powerful cars: both Peugeot 208 WRXs with 600 horsepower seen in the World Championship rallycross (World RX) in 2018!

For this promotional operation, Sébastien Loeb and Kevin Hansen took part in the game. The two drivers raced along the 21 bends of Alpe d'Huez. Skidding and high speeds did not prevent them from observing the 50 km/h limit in the village of La-Garde-en-Oisans nor from stopping at a red light.

It’s a shame that this very original marketing stunt happened at the very end of the Lion's official involvement in world rallycross...
