World RX – Andreas Bakkerud leads at Lydden Hill

Andreas Bakkerud finished first after the first two qualifying rounds of the second World RX event held at Lydden Hill (Great Britain). By winning the first round and setting the sixth time in the second, the Norwegian has a three-point lead over Tanner Foust, who is also very consistent since the American is ahead of Toomas Heikkinen at the end of the first day.

Petter Solberg managed to place fourth after winning the second heat. The Championship leader made up for it after only setting the 12th fastest time in the first round following a bad start where the 2003 world champion WRC stalled. Reigning European champion Timur Timerzyanov is sixth between Robin Larsson and Timmy Hansen. Finally, the local driver Liam Doran still suffers the blow on his land by occupying only 29th position after receiving a penalty for early departure and suffering from mechanical problems. On the French side, Fabien Pailler is best placed, occupying 13th place. Alexandre Theuil is in 20th place while Davy Jeanney (who replaces Jacques Villeneuve selected this weekend for the Indianapolis 500) is only 26th.
