World RX – Guerlain Chicherit with a Renault Megane Prodrive in 2018

Guerlain Chichers will remain involved in the World Championship Rallycross, after having already competed in several events with the JRM Racing Mini Supercar. The freeride ski specialist, who will compete in certain world events in 2017, will drive a brand new car in 2018 by combining his GCK training with a big name in motorsport.

It is in fact the structure Prodrive, known for leading the program WRC of Subaru, and currently engaged in WEC with Aston Martin, which will develop a new Renault Megane IV RX. The latter will be presented on the sidelines of the next Lohéac meeting (September 1-3).

“I am so excited to work with the people at Prodrive to build what has been a dream for a long time, explains Chicherit. I know that with the right team and the support we have, we will be able to produce a car that will really make an impact in the paddock. I clearly hope Prodrive builds the best car and I'm excited to bring my brand and partners to the championship in 2018."

Testing of the Renault is due to begin in the autumn before the planned entry in 2018, allowing Prodrive to finally join World RX. “It has been our ambition for some time, specifies boss David Richards.

It’s the fastest growing series in the world and it gives us the opportunity to use all of our engineering experience to create a car capable of winning the world title. Guerlain is obviously a very talented driver and we look forward to working with him and developing a racing car that he and Renault will be proud of. »
