World RX – Hansen plans to learn from Loeb

Reigning world champion, training Peugeot -Hansen will be the big favorite to succeed him in this 2016 season of the World Championship of Rallycross. The Hansen family team will also aim to dethrone Petter Solberg, double winner among the Drivers, and will be able to count on Timmy Hansen, Sébastien Loeb, Davy Jeanney and Kevin Hansen, the last two playing within the Peugeot-Hansen Academy.

The arrival of the nine-time world rally champion could act as a boost for Timmy Hansen, vice-world champion in 2015, who hopes to move up a place in the hierarchy this year.

“Sébastien is one of the best drivers in the world, so I am both honored and very happy to be able to compete with him this year. I am still young and he has immense experience. I can't wait to learn from him. » Hansen said in a question and answer on the discipline's website.

Asked about possible additional pressure felt due to the presence of the former rally king WRC, the Swede does not think he will be affected. “I am what I am capable of behind the wheel and it will be exactly the same no matter who is driving the other car. I will continue to focus on myself and if he is faster, I will take that as an opportunity to improve. »

The Peugeot 208 Supercars from Team Peugeot-Hansen will be in action from the weekend of April 16 and 17 for the opening of the World RX season, at Montalegre in Portugal.
