World RX – Johan Kristoffersson passes Höljes for third

After the victorious series of Mattias Ekström (Audi S1 ​​– EKS RX) at the start of the season in World RX, Johan Kristoffersson (PSRX Volkswagen Sweden – VW Polo GTi) has become over the last few races the man to beat on the world stage in Rallycross.

At the wheel of a Volkswagen Polo GTi having finally revealed its full potential, the Swede was uncompromising on his home ground in Sweden on the Höljes track. Coming out on top in the qualifying heats ahead of his teammate Petter Solberg, Kristoffersson dominated his semi-final ahead of Sébastien Loeb (Team Peugeot -Hansen – Peugeot 208 WRX), before showing himself the strongest in the final.

Winner ahead of Andreas Bakkerud (Hoonigan Racing Division – Ford Focus RS RX), who managed to get the better of Sébastien Loeb after his joker lap, Kristoffersson pocketed his second consecutive success in World RX, his third of the season and the fourth in a row for the PSRX Volkswagen Sweden.

Timmy Hansen (Team Peugeot-Hansen), Kevin Eriksson (MJP Racing Team Austria – Ford Fiesta) and Janis Baumanis (STARD – Ford Fiesta) complete the final standings.

In the general classification, Johan Kristoffersson increases his lead at the head of the championship over his new runner-up Petter Solberg, Mattias Ekström having missed the Swedish event to compete in the Norisring meeting in DTM. The EKS RX driver maintains his third place ahead of Sébastien Loeb.
