Will EKS be forced to end its activities in Rallycross ? The future of the Swedish team created by Mattias Ekström could end this year as we reveal to you in issue 2130 of AUTOhebdo.

Driver boss Mattias Ekström is selling four of his five Audi S1 ​​Supercars, the chassis having been auctioned off on the Internet. The reigning world champion also presented his mounts to potential buyers last weekend in Lohéac (Ille-et-Vilaine). The sale will be concluded at the Estering meeting (September 29 – October 1).

Mattias Ekström would like to have new Supercars to compete with the Volkswagen Polo and the Peugeot 208, but the Audi driver whose main program remains the DTM said he had no certainty about the future of his team, the Swede depending on the manufacturer's decisions at the Rings.

EKS hires Mattias Ekström, Toomas Heikkinen and Reinis Nitiss for the entire season. The boss-driver remains best placed in the Championship, occupying 3rd place, 15 points behind Petter Solberg (Volkswagen). The Swedish team is also in 3rd position in the Teams' Championship, 25 points ahead of Hoonigan Racing Division.
