World RX – The first version of the 2020 calendar revealed

Already made official yesterday, the arrival of the Nürburgring in the World RX concert will constitute the big news of the 2020 World Championship season.

The event organized on the German Eifel track will digitally replace the one usually scheduled in Estering and will reinforce a calendar with eleven dates.

Barcelona and Montalegre, returning to World RX after a year of absence, will open the season before the Belgian, Norwegian and Swedish meetings with a date still to be confirmed in July.

Following the detour to the Nürburgring, Lohéac will host the French round of the series at the beginning of September before a second meeting still unknown to date. Abu Dhabi, first event of 2019, and South Africa (with a contract running until 2021) will conclude the season, and are currently the only rounds outside Europe before confirmation of the two pending dates.

As reported by the Canadian media, the Trois-Rivières Grand Prix will not return to World RX in 2020, effectively ruling out the round across the Atlantic as one of the two dates to be made official.

“World RX continues to flourish as our footprint grows, comments Paul Bellamy, Vice President Motorsports at IMG. We have put together a perfect mix of circuits rallycross traditional and bold new sites for 2020.

We are also excited to add Projekt E, the first electric powersports series, as further proof of our commitment to the rapid adoption of electric technologies. »

The Projekt E schedule will be revealed in the coming weeks.
