World RX – Measures to control costs

After the FIA World Council held this Wednesday in Paris unveiled the main guidelines for controlling costs in World RX, the organizers of the World RX Championship Rallycross presented the detailed measures that will be put into effect next year. These measures will notably affect the engine, turbo, gearbox settings, tires, aero, etc.

For engines, teams will only be able to use two engines per car for the season compared to three this year. The number of turbos will be limited to four compared to six so far.

Teams will also be required to select 12 new tires (dry and wet) for the first two events of the season, in Barcelona (April 13-15) and Montalegre (April 27-29).

The commissioners will put in place a technical declaration form which will allow elements to be identified in order to limit developments and therefore costs. This form will be dedicated to the gearbox limited to two types of settings for the season, the central differential, the brakes and the rear aero appendages specified for the year. Teams will no longer be able to modify this part of the car during the season.
