World RX – Loeb and Peugeot in hunt for victory at Höljes

The team Peugeot -Hansen will return to his home ground in Höljes where the Franco-Swedish team is used to achieving great performances. Last year, Sébastien Loeb took 2nd place ahead of teammate Timmy Hansen, the 208 WRX having been beaten by the Hoonigan Racing Ford Focus driven by Andreas Bakkerud.

“It’s a circuit that I like. He is very technical”, notes Sébastien Loeb. It is surely the most difficult circuit of the season in terms of driving. I remember getting on the podium last year. There is an extraordinary atmosphere. There, the Rallycross is truly a celebration. It's a very nice moment to experience. It's always a pleasure to come to this race. An ideal context for a short weekend in a motorhome. »

Team Peugeot-Hansen will aim for a first victory this year, as confirmed by Kenneth Hansen, Team Principal.

“It’s a magical weekend for us, admits the Swede. We are generally very competitive in Höljes. It's a track that we know very well. We therefore arrive with high ambitions even if we are perfectly aware that the current level is very high. We will fight for victory. Faced with such competition, it will be difficult but we will give our best and we have prepared for this goal. »

Timmy Hansen, pilot and son of Kenneth Hansen, shares his father's enthusiasm in returning to Höljes.

“It’s a joy for me to race in Höljes. It's a track that I love above all else. I obtained good results there and experienced memorable battles. For me, it's the best Rallycross circuit. You can find everything there, real dirt turns, others on asphalt, bumps, banking, drops… The way of driving there is so special. There are lots of little tips for getting a quick look around. There really is something magical. »

Timmy Hansen occupies 5th place in the Championship, tied on points with Sébastien Loeb. The two Team Peugeot-Hansen drivers are 49 points behind leader Johan Kristoffersson (Volkswagen). The Sochalian brand is 2nd in the Manufacturers' Championship with 6 units ahead of EKS which will have to do without its boss-driver Mattias Ekström retained this weekend in DTM at Norisring.
