World RX – Petter Solberg still off to a good start at Estering

Petter Solberg takes the lead in the Estering (Germany) event after the first two qualifying rounds. The Championship leader who remains on two consecutive victories at Trois Rivières (Canada) and Lohéac (Brittany) did not win a round on the first day but was the most consistent to lead Timur Timerzyanov and Mattias Ekström, still very efficient on his Audi S1 from the EKS structure since he won the second round. The Olsbergs MSE driver is behind Robin Larsson, winner of the first qualifying heat but who missed out in the second by only setting the 25th time.

Tommy Rustad and Henning Solberg stand out on this circuit which is both fast and technical as they complete the top five ahead of Toomas Heikkinen and Timmy Hansen, while Reinis Nitiss is only in tenth place. Pontus Tidemand is only in 12th place after having to take a joker penalty lap for anticipating a start. The start was difficult for René Munnich since his Audi A3 retired during both rounds.
