World RX – Reinis Nitiss joins EKS

Reinis Nitiss will be at the wheel of a new vehicle in 2017. After having evolved within All-Inkl.com Racing, the Latvian signed up with EKS to compete in the 12 rounds of the World RX season.

The 21-year-old Nordic driver will drive an Audi S1 ​​Quattro for the team of Mattias Esktröm, the reigning world champion, and will not have the pressure of scoring points in the Teams Championship, with this task being entrusted to his two teammates.

“It’s every driver’s dream to move to the reigning world champion team. This is a unique opportunity and I am delighted that Audi and EKS trust me,” commented the European champion in 2013 in the S1600 category.

“We worked very hard with Audi to enter three cars in the race and I am happy to have achieved this, added Mattias Ekström, the boss-pilot of EKS. We will have another competitive driver with Reinis. Even though he is only 21 years old, he already has plenty of experience in rallycross."

The 2017 World RX season will begin on April 1 and 2 in Barcelona (Spain).
