World RX – Sébastien Loeb with Peugeot

The 2016 World RX season promises to be grandiose. The Team Peugeot -Hansen will field four 208 RXs, one of which will be driven by Sébastien Loeb. The nine-time champion WRC will be involved alongside Timmy Hansen throughout the season and will face his former opponent in rally Petter Solberg. The Alsatian trained on a frozen lake in Are (Sweden) alongside his new teammate.

“Over the years I have had the chance to take part in some sensational racing experiences but the Rallycross is shaping up to be something truly special, given the power and competitiveness of the Peugeot 208 RX as well as the very intense nature of the sport. The car and the strategy for this type of racing are completely new to me. I have a lot to learn but I nevertheless hope to be competitive very quickly”, commented the former WTCC driver who will wear the number 9.

The Sochaux manufacturer will field a second team called Peugeot Hansen Academy, which will feature Davy Jeanney, hired by the Lion since 2015. The Frenchman will be joined by Kevin Hansen, the European RX Lites champion, who will compete in Euro RX and several rounds of the WorldRX.

“In 2015, for my first season in the World Championship with Team Peugeot Hansen, I won in Canada and in Germany and finished fifth in the general classification”, underlined Davy Jeanney. “I am very happy to continue working with one of the most competitive teams in the sport and to share my experience with Kevin as he makes his debut at the highest international level. »
