World RX – Silverstone hits the calendar in 2018
IMG, promoter of World RX, confirmed this Monday that the World Championship event organized on the Lydden Hill track will be replaced in 2018 by a round at Silverstone. This new destination continues the integration of renowned destinations, after Hockenheim and Barcelona.
The British meeting will be integrated into a major festival scheduled over the entire weekend. “We have been discussing internally at IMG for some time about creating a high-profile motorsport festival and we are delighted that Silverstone is able to share our vision for the future. » commented Paul Bellamy, World RX manager at IMG.
The English complex will therefore host a new FIA-badged championship after the World Championship of F1 or the World ChampionshipEndurance.
