World RX – Solberg takes the lead

Petter Solberg (DS 3) set the best time in the first two qualifying rounds of the World RX in Trois-Rivières (Canada). The three-time world champion, who nevertheless lost his fifth gear in the first heat, was ahead of Timur Timerzyanov (Ford Fiesta) each time. The Norwegian and the Russian logically occupy the first two places in the ranking.

Andreas Bakkerud (Ford Focus RS) continues his good performances by finishing the day in third place ahead of Sébastien Loeb (Peugeot 208), winner of his race in the second heat. The Alsatian precedes Johan Kristoffersson (Volkswagen Polo) and Toomas Heikkinen (Audi S1).

Mattias Ekström (Audi S1) made up for it by winning his race in the second heat after suffering a puncture at the start of the day. The Championship leader is in seventh place ahead of Anton Marklund (Polo) and Kevin Eriksson (Fiesta), while Ken Block (Focus RS) completes the top ten.

Timmy Hansen (208) is in difficulty. After setting the tenth fastest time in the first heat, the Swede was the victim of a retirement in the second heat after damaging his front suspension.
