World RX – Solberg dreams of a first victory at Lydden Hill

Petter Solberg is starting to feel the pressure. The double World RX champion is still seeking a first victory this season at the wheel of his Volkswagen Polo RX while his teammate Johan Kristoffersson won this month in Mettet on the Jules Tachney circuit (Belgium).

A victory at Lydden Hill would be all the more rewarding as World RX will go to Silverstone in 2018 for the British round.

“It was in Lydden that the PSRX adventure began in 2013, recalls Petter Solberg who finished 2nd behind Mattias Ekström (Audi) last year. Le Rallycross has a long history in my family and so one can imagine what a special place Lydden Hill has in our hearts. I imposed myself two years ago and I have incredible memories of that moment. This would be the perfect place to celebrate my first win of the season, but I imagine there are a few others who have the same idea. »

Johan Kristoffersson hopes to remain on an upward trend after his victory in Mettet which allowed him to come back to within 3 points of leader Mattias Ekström.

“I feel very good at the moment, admits Johan Kristoffersson. PSRX has shown real consistency and potential in Belgium and we will need to replicate that for Britain. Petter won there two years ago and he probably deserved to win last year after being consistently the fastest. So we have a good understanding of what it takes to win on this circuit. »

PSRX dominates the Teams rankings with 44 points ahead of EKS.
