WorldRX – Big first for Audi at Lohéac

Audi is preparing to take on a new challenge for the WorldRX round in Lohéac (Ile-et-Vilaine) this weekend. To be able to stand up to the Volkswagens and the Peugeot , the German brand is entering a fourth car for this weekend, a first in rallycross for the ring mark. In addition to the regular drivers, Mattias Ekström will benefit from the support of his teammate in DTM Nico Müller who is taking his first steps in the discipline.

« Mattias and I have been teammates in DTM since 2016, comments the Swiss pilot. Obviously, we also talk about rallycross. I started following WorldRX a while ago and I really like the sport and its atmosphere. Participating in the round in France is a dream come true. These 560 hp cars are extraordinary and allow you to fight in muscular duels. We are quickly hooked! »

The fact that the Swiss are taking part in the Lohéac round is not a coincidence, it is the Rallycross event bringing together the most spectators even if the majority will be won over to Sébastien's cause. Loeb.

« It's one of my favorite dates, adds Mattias Ekström, with 80 spectators and a huge track. For drivers and fans, Lohéac represents rallycross paradise."

In addition to Nico Müller, six other drivers benefit from a wild card for this event which, with a 25-driver grid, reaches the maximum for a WorldRX round.
