WorldRX – Team Hansen did not materialize

Kenneth Hansen's team remained on three consecutive podiums in the World Championship Rallycross since the Belgian round in Mettet, and was clearly aiming to take the last step which separated it from a victory at the German meeting in Estering last weekend. And it started quite well since Timur Timerzyanov and Timmy Hansen emerged in 1st and 3rd position after the qualifying heats. But the Russian lost all chance during his semi-final. “We went a little too far to the outside in the first corner and the others took advantage of it to go to the inside. » admits Timerzyanov who saw his teammate qualify for the final where Hansen only took sixth place after suffering from engine problems earlier in the weekend.

“The positions hardly changed at the first corner in the final, explains the Swede. When you start from the third row, you have a chance to avoid the pitfalls and make your way. It was very difficult to overtake, especially with reduced visibility caused by dust. I tried my joker lap at the end of the race. Unfortunately, I made a few mistakes and couldn't take advantage of it. We didn't have much luck in the final but the car was perfect. As soon as we benefited from good visibility, we were fast throughout the heats. »

The Peugeot 208 supported by the Sochaux manufacturer will return to the track next weekend in Italy for the unprecedented FranciaCorta round.
