The Toyota Hilux Dakar enters the Fernando Alonso Museum

For several days, visitors to the museum Fernando Alonso, located in the Asturias region of Spain, can admire the Toyota Hilux Dakar, vehicle with which the Spanish driver participated in the Rally of the Dakar in 2020. This is not a replica but rather the car with which the double F1 world champion finished in 13th place in the standings. This prototype is therefore found next to the single-seaters of Formula 1 and also the Toyota TS050 HYBRID with which he won the WEC in 2019. 

“While F1 is the heart of the museum and my career, prototypes such as Le Mans and Daytona and this Dakar add value for visitors, who can come and see a little of all the disciplines of motorsport that has been part of my history in recent years,” said Fernando Alonso. The current pilot Alpine also added that he had lived “a spectacular experience both on a professional and human level” and that he “would definitely try again” to take part in a second participation in the Dakar.
