Dacia's Sandrider project was presented with great fanfare on January 30, 2024 in the company of its entire technical and sporting team, including Sébastien Loeb, but also Tiphanie Isnard. The former sports coordinator of Peugeot Sport on the Dakar, named Team Principal of The Dacia Sandriders, spoke about the team's ambitions on the official website of the World Rally Raid Championship.

« From a marketing and communication point of view, winning the Dakar has an impact on the general public because it is the most well-known event, but we are a team that plays sport and wins a world champion title, which whether for the brand or for its drivers, is just as important, declares Thiphanie Isnard. For this, we need to prepare because the objective is very clear: it is to win the Dakar 2025 and win the title of world champion. To achieve these objectives, we must ride in tests and in racing conditions to give ourselves every chance of success. The championship is an exercise in both training and performance which is essential. Participating in the world championship is also proof of Dacia's commitment: we come, we do things correctly and we are determined to the end. The W2RC is clearly a must. »

The three drivers designated to sit behind the wheel of the Sandrider are Sébastien Loeb, Nasser Al Attiyah and Christina Gutierrez. “ These three pilots will be on the Rally of Morocco 2024 and the Dakar 2025, announces the Team Principal. Sébastien and Nasser will be present at the 2025 and 2026 world championship. We leave ourselves an option for Cristina who we wish to accompany in her “performance” crescendo. She will do a lot of development and step by step we will give ourselves the opportunity to open her calendar. Everyone is free to ride for any brand in the Abu Dhabi Desert Challenge, but at the beginning of March we will begin our intensive development and testing phases. They will have access to all the engineering data of the Sandrider and from that moment on they will be official drivers for the Dacia brand. This will not prevent them from going to drive with the Hunter, or even a T3, to continue to keep control, but the priority will be the Dacia test program. »
