Le départ du Dakar 2023 (31 décembre-15 janvier) approche à grand pas. En attendant l’arrivée de tous les concurrents en Arabie saoudite d’ici la fin du mois, les équipes règlent les derniers détails à l’image de Toyota qui a présenté ses trois équipages officiels pour la 45e edition of the largest rally-raid to the world.

Unsurprisingly, it is Nasser Al-Attiyah and Mathieu Baumel who carry Toyota's hopes. Reigning champions, the Qatari and the Tricolore will seek their 5e and 4e coronations respectively, a 2e consecutive since the beginning of their collaboration.

In the Saudi desert, Toyota is also maintaining continuity since its two other Hilux T1+ will be entrusted to the duos Giniel de Villiers-Dennis Murphy and Henk Lategan-Brett Cummings.

« This year has been fantastic for us, remembers team principal Alain Dujardyn after the coronation at the Dakar 2022 but also in the first edition of the Rally-Raid world championship. We started by winning the 2022 Dakar, before adding the first W2RC title to our list. Giniel also won the SARRC (South African championship) this year, and I would like to thank our three crews for their respective performances in W2RC and SARRC. They constantly pushed the limits to do better, and the technical mastermind at Glyn Hall worked tirelessly to continually improve our winning race car, making it ever better in preparation for the 2023 Dakar. »

If Nasser Al-Attiyah and Mathieu Baumel will compete in all the rounds of the Rally-Raid world championship after the Dakar, Giniel de Villiers-Dennis Murphy and Henk Lategan-Brett Cummings will be entered in the South African championship.
