Nothing seems to stop him. Man in good shape of the moment, Sébastien Loeb this Wednesday offered himself a 3e rank stage on the Dakar 2023, bringing its total to 4 on this 45th edition of the queen event of the rally-raid.
In the Saudi desert, the Alsatian had a relatively quiet day. It's simple, the BRX driver led from start to finish, even leading at all the waypoints of this stage of only 114 kilometers, the shortest of the 2023 edition.
At Audi, satisfaction could only come from Mattias Ekström and Emil Bergkvist, the only survivors of the German armada after the abandonments of Stéphane Peterhansel/Édouard Boulanger and Carlos Sainz/Lucas Cruz. Fifth after the first waypoint, the Swedes moved up through the stage to 2e place, 3'04 behind Sébastien Loeb and Fabian Lurquin. Lucas Moraes and Timo Gottschalk completed the Top 3 of the day, just over 5 minutes behind the winners.
In the general classification, no major upheaval is to be noted this Wednesday. Fourth of the day, the duo Nasser Al-Attiyah-Mathieu Baumel largely retains the lead of the Dakar with 1h21'34 ahead of Lucas Moraes-Timo Gottschalk.
Winners for 4e times in this Dakar 2023, Sébastien Loeb and Fabian Lurquin remain 3e but came back within 16 minutes of the dauphin place. The Frenchman and his Belgian co-driver still believe in it!
