Sébastien Loeb: “The Desert Challenge is a good experience”

Sébastien Loeb and Fabian Lurquin took second place in the fourth stage of the Abu Dhabi Desert Challenge (ADDC). The BRX duo was beaten during the special around Qasr Al Sarab by Nasser Al-Attiyah and Mathieu Baumel (Toyota), for 3’01″. “It was a good day with no mistakes and no problems, I just tried to keep a good pace to finish the stage and score some points for the championship, but also to try to move up in the general classification. Overall it wasn't a very difficult stage, reacted the Frenchman after this day. It was a good mix between dunes and fast sections. This is my first Desert Challenge and I learned that the dunes are really difficult. There are a lot more than any other event, but it's a very good experience and it will be very useful to me for the future. »

“We are focused on the long-term goal of the championship title, adds Gus Beteli, BRX team principal. So second place for the third time is a good result. Nasser is on the terrain he loves and he is very fast and hard to catch, while Seb is learning every day and showing how fast the Hunter is in the dunes. If we can earn a spot by the end of the event tomorrow and move up to 6th place that would be great, but our focus will be on getting home safely and heading into the next round at the elbow at elbow with Nasser. » In the general classification of the event, Loeb-Lurquin is in fourth place, 2h03'14" behind Stéphane Peterhansel and Édouard Boulanger (Team Audi Sport).
