Briton Robin Shute, former British GT driver, was the fastest on the climb to Pikes Peak (Colorado) yesterday, for the 2019 edition of the Race to the Clouds, unfortunately mourned by the death of biker Carlin Dunne , after an accident during the event.
At the wheel of the Wolf TSC powered by a Honda engine block, entered in the Unlimited category, Robin Shute achieved the absolute best time this year in 9'12"476, setting the benchmark time in the first three sections of the climb, the event having been disrupted by the weather.
The record remains the property of Romain Dumas with the Volkswagen ID. R in 7'57″148, established last year on the slopes of the legendary American climb.
Raphaël Astier et sa Porsche 911 GT3 Cup préparée par le RD Limited terminent avec le deuxième temps en 9’23″721, le Français s’offrant la victoire et le record dans la catégorie Time Attack 1.

Peter Cunningham's Acura TLX GT finished 3rd and won the Open. Note the record for a production car for Rhys Millen's Bentley Continental GT in 10'18″488.
