STARD reveals the specifications of its Projekt E demo car

ElectrX. This is the name given to the demonstration Ford Fiesta developed by the Austrian entity STARD for the famous Projekt E which must make the transition to the electrification of the rallycross promoted by IMG, currently at the helm of the World RX World Rallycross Championship.

Manfred Stohl's company presented this Wednesday the specifications of this car which foreshadows what such a car could give. The main kit includes the electric motors and associated controllers, transmission, energy storage system, complete electronics package, harness and charging system.

Logically equipped with all-wheel drive, this Fiesta ElectrX will see its two front and rear axles equipped with a limited slip differential and electronic torque control.

STARD announces a powertrain, called REVelution and developing 612 hp, adaptable to any body of a B segment car, and offering superior performance to the current Supercar RX.

“The aim is to demonstrate, present and test what can be done with powertrains for electric vehicles in rallycross from 2020, comments Michael Sakowicz, CEO of STARD.

Projekt E will be just the beginning of a more comprehensive and longer-term electric future for Rallycross, which we of course want to have an influence on, perhaps even more so with our Ford Fiesta ElectrX, as we do. what we did with our first electric car in 2016.

The plan is to take a first step and explore the possibilities of powertrains for electric vehicles in Rallycross. Of course, this only makes sense if you take into account the entire WRX environment, with the FIA, private teams, manufacturers, promoters, organizers and even sponsors.

The exact structure and activity around Projekt E will be disclosed to the public later by our partner IMG and will align perfectly with possible other major projects after 2020. In the meantime, we will continue to disclose more technical details about our REVelution system. »
