Steven Bossard champion of D1A

Steven Bossard (Citroën C2 S1600) could not have hoped for better during this D1A season of Rallycross. With eight victories in the first eight rounds of the French Championship? which has ten?, the young driver secured a title of which he had become the overwhelming favorite, notably following his victory at Kerlabo, in front of the European specialists in the discipline.

This weekend, in Mayenne, he only needed a few points to secure this title. Author of a new pole position, the 20-year-old driver nevertheless had to deal with competition from Adeline Sangnier (Citroën Saxo S1600), best time in the last qualifying heat and in the lead in the first ten meters of the final. But Steven Bossard was able to take the reins at the start of the first turn, before going to glean an eighth victory in eight meetings, to celebrate a deserved title.

In division 1, Davy Jeanney (Citroën Xsara?WRC?) resumed its march forward. However, it was Jérôme Grosset-Janin (Citroën C4 ?WRC?), starting from the third row, who took the lead of the peloton at the end of the first corner of the final. But, starting too wide in the second lap, he allowed Davy Jeanney to take control, who went for a fourth victory this season. From now on, Davy Jeanney has 132 points, 18 better than Jérôme Grosset-Janin, who will have to work hard to hope to catch up with the winner of Mayenne.
