While the different national teams unveil their latest drivers or prepare to reach Swedish lands, the organization has just drawn lots for the teams and drivers who will compete.

After the announcement of the replacement of Travis Pastrana, France finalizes its duo. A big name in rallying has been on the entry list since August 2021. Sébastien Loeb will try to win a fourth individual title and a second Nations Cup.

His teammate was announced just an hour before the draw. It is Didier Auriol, world rally champion in 1994. The Montpellier driver has won the title of Champion of Champions four times, for which he has held the record for victories since 1999.

A duo which brings together no less than 10 world rally champion titles and 7 individual victories in the Race of Champion.

Weekend draw

Saturday February 5 will take place the Nation Cup. Each driver will face his two opponents per round. The day will begin with a fight between American pilots and Mexican and Brazilian pilots.

Thus, the German drivers will be pitted against the two winners of the e-race taking place shortly before the start of hostilities. The two winning duos will meet for the first quarter-final. The other quarters will be contested between Finland against England, the Nordic team against France and finally Switzerland against Norway.

At the end of all its duels, the organization will crown the fastest country.

To end the weekend, Sunday February 6, each driver will compete against all others to determine the champion of champions. An individual event, where old duels will be reborn.

Thanks to this event, the public will see: Sebastian Vettel and Valterri Bottas, both pilots of Formula 1, Petter Solberg and Sébastien Loeb, two big names in rally, the seven-time champion Nascar Jimmie Johnson facing Mika Hakkinen, double Formula 1 world champion.

As a reminder, this is the first time that the Race of Champions has taken place on ice. Accustomed to dirt or asphalt, the famous race founded by Michèle Mouton in 1988 is renewed.
