World RX – Kristoffersson winner at Lohéac, Loeb on the podium

Johan Kristoffersson (Volkswagen Polo) returned to victory by achieving his first success of the season at Lohéac (Brittany) by winning the final ahead of Andreas Bakkerud (Ford Focus RS) and Sébastien Loeb (Peugeot 208).

After a difficult first day, the Volkswagen RX Sweden driver found the solution to be in the rhythm on the French circuit. The Swede won the last two qualifying heats before winning his semi-final against Sébastien Loeb and Ken Block (Focus RS). The Scandinavian started on pole for the final and quickly placed himself out of reach of his opponents.

Sébastien Loeb experienced a difficult second part of qualifying, but the nine-time champion of WRC got off to a good start in the final. The Alsatian was in a fight against Andreas Bakkerud and Petter Solberg before finding the opening on the double reigning World RX champion who failed at the foot of the podium. “Hollywood” nevertheless regained the lead of the Championship with five points ahead of Mattias Ekström (Audi S1) who failed in fourth place during his semi-final following a puncture.

Reinis Nitiss (Seat Ibiza) obtained a good result with fifth place in the final, taking advantage of the retirement of Ken Block who ended his weekend in the rail.
