Mattias Ekström (Audi S1) won the World RX final in Barcelona (Spain), the first event of the 2017 season, winning from Timo Scheider (Ford Fiesta) who remained in contact with the EKS driver throughout the race.

Andreas Bakkerud (Ford Focus) completed the podium, narrowly emerging from his joker lap ahead of Petter Solberg (Volkswagen Polo) and Timmy Hansen (Peugeot 208). Johan Kristoffersson (Volkswagen Polo) completed the ranking after missing his start.
