World RX – The final entry list for the year revealed

There will be eighteen drivers, divided between six teams and six individual entries, to compete in the twelve rounds of World RX 2017, with the first round taking place in Barcelona on April 1 and 2.

The world champion team EKS RX, which will receive increased support from Audi Sport, will field three Audi S1 quattros for world champion Mattias Ekström, Toomas Heikkinen and Reinis Nitiss.

The Hoonigan Racing Division Ford Focus RS RXs of Ken Block and Andreas Bakkerud, all three Peugeot 208 RX from Sébastien’s Team Peugeot-Hansen Loeb, Timmy and Kevin Hansen and the two Volkswagen Polo RXs of PSRX-Volkswagen Sweden of Petter Solberg and Johan Kristoffersson, should be the main rivals of the Audis.

The Ford clan will be represented by the MJP Racing Team Austria and the Fiestas of Timo Scheider and Kevin Eriksson, as well as the examples of Team STARD of Timur Timerzyanov and Janis Baumanis.

The individual entrants, Jean-Baptiste Dubourg (Peugeot 208), Niclas Grönholm (Ford Fiesta), Lukacs Kornel (Kia Rio) and Guy Wilks (Volkswagen Polo) complete the list of regular participants. Max Pucher will compete in some events, while Andrew Jordan will replace Timo Scheider at Lydden Hill in May.

We should also see Italian Gigi Galli in action in another Kia Rio during the season, while Guerlain Chicherit will prepare his full-time commitment in 2018 with the Renault Megane RX Prodrive by competing in six world events.
