World RX – Lohéac, special meeting for Loeb and Peugeot-Hansen

The public of Lohéac in Brittany awaits its champion. Sebastian Loeb will finally make its highly anticipated return to the route of its debut in rallycross international. The nine-time world rally champion had indeed taken part in the French event in 2013, then registered in the European Rally Championship.

“I have very good memories of my participation in 2013, comments the Frenchman. I then discovered the atmosphere of Rallycross which is very popular in this region. I think the track characteristics should suit our 208 and I hope we perform well in front of our home crowd. »

Twice second this year in Belgium and Sweden, a first victory for the former Citroën driver in the discipline would look great on home soil, but knowledge of the terrain will not necessarily be an asset according to the Alsatian.

“Competing in the French round of the championship is obviously a pretty special event. As far as I'm concerned, it's one of the rare times of the season where I'll race on a circuit that I already know. That said, the other drivers are so sharp that it shouldn't make much of a difference. »

Kenneth Hansen's team also hopes to continue its momentum in Canada, where Timmy Hansen bagged the first victory in 2016 for the Franco-Swedish alliance. The structure approaches this test with a certain pressure.

“We are approaching this round with a lot of concentration, explains Kenneth Hansen. We have done well on this track the last two seasons and particularly last year when Timmy won. We will of course do everything to repeat this performance. Of course racing in France puts a little more pressure on us. We will have a lot of supporters but it's good pressure! »
