WorldRX – François Duval unlucky at home

Lined up on a Volkswagen Polo Supercar from Team Marklund, François Duval was eagerly awaited this weekend in Mettet, on the Jules Tacheny circuit, scene of the sixth round of the World Championship Rallycross 2014. But in the first round, contact with a competitor damaged the rear suspension of his Polo and ruined his first run. “This abandonment ruined the rest of my weekend! » explained the former Citroën driver in WRC on the website of the Belgian Club Volkswagen, which supported him for the Belgian event.

From then on, Duval had to perform flawlessly to return to the twelve qualified for the semi-finals, but without success, especially in the last round. “I had to widen the line at the first corner and found myself in last place. I gave it my all, overtaking an opponent on the jump and two in the same lap. Apparently, I put on the show. But this was obviously not the best way to set a good time at the end of the round. The points for 21st place were not enough for me to be one of the twelve semi-finalists? Personally, I think that the results are positive despite everything and that I have demonstrated that I have my place in this hyper-competitive championship. In pure speed, I deserved to be among the top 12? I hope it will be for the next time because I can confirm that this discipline really enjoys me! »

Will we see the Belgian again on the WorldRX circuits this season, when the championship will enter its second half at the beginning of August with the meeting in Trois-Rivières in Canada?
