WorldRX – Toomas Heikkinen wins in Belgium

Petter Solberg will not have lost everything in the final in Mettet in Belgium. The Norwegian was off to a good start, leading the majority of the final ahead of the Volkswagen Polos of Toomas Heikkinen and Johan Kristoffersson, but a broken suspension on his Citroën DS3 upon landing a jump prevented the former world champion from rallies to fight on equal terms until the end. Toomas Heikkinen didn't ask for that much and imposes the Polo Supercar of Team Marklund ahead of the Peugeot 208 of Swede Timmy Hansen and the second Polo Supercar of Johan Kristoffersson.

Fourth in the final, Petter Solberg nevertheless took the opportunity to take control of the world championship with three points ahead of Reinis Nitiss (Ford – Olsbergs) who failed to qualify for the final, after a weekend overall complicated for the Fiestas. Andreas Bakkerud, Nitiss' teammate, fell to 4th place in the championship after experiencing an engine problem on Saturday then a broken suspension today. Qualified in the semi-final, Davy Jeanney (Citroën DS3 – Monster Energy) failed to reach the final after experiencing a problem with his mount.
