That's it, World RX has a new promoter! After the announcement of IMG's departure last October, the FIA ​​had launched a call for tenders to ensure the promotion of the world championship of rallycross.

Four months and several negotiations later, the FIA ​​has finally found a buyer. Already promoter of the world rally championship, WRC Promoter will now take care of the promotion of World RX starting this year.

« In their proposal, there was the desire to create a real synergy », explains in the columns of our No. 2298 Benoît Dupont, FIA manager of the Off-Road categories.

Now in the hands of a new manager, World RX is embarking on a new adventure with the aim of returning to the heights it reached a few years ago. “ With WRC Promoter, we will try to explore different horizons, for example an ice race must fit into the World RX calendar in the short term. The interest of the WRC lies in particular in the different surfaces encountered during the season, we would like this same philosophy in World RX, continues Benoît Dupont.

The discipline must expand to provide great commercial reach to manufacturers. Rallycross is ideal for changing the perception of electric energy with the power of cars and their fun side with racing in a peloton on one-kilometer tracks. The start of the new season of the world rallycross championship is scheduled for Spa on May 22 and 23.
