The manufacturer DS announced at the end of last week that Thomas Chevaucher had become the new director of DS Performance. What about Xavier Mestelan Pinon, the former owner of the post?
The FIA has revealed that the man with 26 years of motorsport experience has been appointed Technical Director within the FIA Sport division. He will take up his duties in the Federation's offices in Geneva in mid-April. He succeeds Gilles Simon, current Technical Director, who has chosen to retire but who will continue his cooperation with the FIA as a consultant.
“Xavier joins the FIA at a pivotal period of technological innovation in motorsport,” commented Peter Bayer, FIA Sport Secretary General. He will play a key role in deploying our forward-looking technical vision across a range of FIA championships, particularly in the area of cutting-edge powertrain development.”
