The Audi R8, already largely successful in GT3, did not arrive timidly in GT4, but with a very successful concept and strong 500 hp.
I arrive at the circuit before dawn, in almost total darkness. Once through the security checkpoint, the road winding up to the pits descends steeply, then rises almost vertically in the space of 300 meters. The change in altitude, even while driving my rental car, is staggering. To my left, through the window, I can painfully see the glow of a Michelin footbridge drowned in the mist. I understand with horror that the track, immediately below, follows the same logic of difference in altitude. My heart seems to pause, then tries to regain its rhythm with accidental jerks. An hour passes before the dawning light removes my last doubts. The place seems totally crazy and anachronistic as American circuits still know how to be.
