On April 29, 2006, Nigel Mansell won his last international race on the Losail circuit in Qatar.

Launched in 2005, the Grand Prix Masters (GPM) was intended to bring together the most illustrious veteran drivers behind the wheel of identical cars, 8 hp Reynard V600 Cosworths. Only three races will be contested, but the second round contested on the Losail circuit, the Moto GP playground, will allow Nigel Mansell to pocket a victory full of panache at the age of 52.
