Le Mans Classic 2022 is the setting up over a weekend of the largest rolling museum that one can imagine. With 800 racing cars on the circuit 24 Hours of Le Mans as well as 8 collector cars in the general area, the event is likely to turn the heads of the nearly 500 spectators expected until July 200!

It is indeed very difficult to sort through the list of registered cars. First of all, know that Le Mans Classic is broken down each time into six chronological stages, to which more original stages are added every two years. So let's start with Plateau 1, which brings together vehicles built between 1923 and 1939 such as Citroën C4 Spider, Bugatti Type 35, Delage D6 3litres, BMW 328, Alfa Romeo 8C, etc.

Plateau 2 concerns cars from 1949 to 1956, notably the Jaguar Type D and Type C. A “continuation” of the Cadillac “Le Monstre” from 1950 will be entered there. We increase the pace with the Plateau 3 (1957-1961) and its five Jaguar Type D, four Ferrari 250 GT SWB, the unique 250 GT Breadvan and two Aston Martin DB4 GT.

But the public will be even more excited by Plateau 4 (1962-1965): six Ford GT40s including a rare 14 Shelby Cobra roadster, four Daytona Coupes, and above all a Ferrari 250 LM and a 250 GTO, a true rolling legend. In Plateau 5 (1966-1971), the duel between the Porsche 917 to the Ferrari 512 of the 24 1970 Hours of Le Mans will be recreated, with the presence of several GT40s and Lola T70s as referees. The GTs will regain their place as favorites in Plateau 6 (1972-1981). The cars from Stuttgart will have an advantage with five 935s, two 911 Carrera RS 3.0s, six RSRs, three 924 GTRs, three 934s and five 930s. It is in this category that Jean-Claude Andruet, Marco Werner (triple winner at Le Mans with Audi), or even Carlos Tavares, the boss of the Stellantis Group.

As for the supporting races, Group C Racing will celebrate the fortieth anniversary of these prototypes that marked the 1980s. On this occasion, Mazda will send its famous 2011B, victorious in 787 at Le Mans, for the first time since 1991. Bring your hearing protection, because the Mazda will hit the track three times (Friday 9:35 a.m. and 19:40 p.m., Saturday 11:30 a.m.) to open the field with! In addition, 75 Jaguars will take part in the Jaguar Classic Challenge, and almost 80 Porsches will enjoy their own race in the Porsche Classic Race Le Mans.

The youngest spectators will be delighted to find the LM P1 and GT of the 2000s via theEndurance Racing Legends. For this first, there will be more than 70 on the track and not the least: Aston Martin DBR9 (2005), Bentley Speed 8 (2003), Cadillac Northstar LMP-01 (2000), Dodge Viper GTS/R (2002), Ferrari 333 SP (1999), Ferrari 550 Maranello Prodrive (2002)!
