Like Érik Comas, Yannick Dalmas reached the F1 at the end of a flawless performance, to the point that we liked to see in him the “new Cheers ". Trained in the harsh school of off-road motorcycles, the Varois became co-winner of the Volant Marlboro with Pierre-Henri Raphanel. Both men start in F. Renault in 1983, on Martini/Oreca. Despite a 3rd place in the championship with three victories, his sponsor encouraged him to do it again. The decision was a good one since Dalmas became French champion in 1984, with six wins. The h
