The organizers wanted this second year of the Historic French Grand Prix on the Paul-Ricard circuit (Var) to better understand the past of the Formula 1 In France. “ We proposed in particular to revisit the era of Formula 1 with V10 engines and the end of 100% thermal engines, explained Laurent Vallery-Masson, head of HVM Racing. A choice that delighted the eyes and, even more, the ears of the spectators! » Accepted on the starting grid of the Boss GP, the public was able to approach some examples which certainly did not win a Grand Prix in their time, but which took on a precious character. Thus, the winner of Race 1, the Austrian Ingo Gerstl, drove a Toro Rosso STR1 ex-Scott Speed ​​and Vitantonio Liuzzi. This car occupies a dear place in the hearts of music lovers, because it is the ultimate F1 with a V10 engine (Cosworth), the other teams having then adopted the V8 architecture during this 2006 campaign.
