Every modern racing driver has one day wondered about the pleasure that historic racing could provide. So, just to be sure, we tried the experiment with the Classic Racing School competition at Paul-Ricard, mid-June.

We drove in Formula Ford during the Historic French GP

There are meetings where we find ourselves immersed in another era, surely more rock'n'roll and unbridled than ours, where pilots asked fewer questions about their communication or career plan. A time when we took the time to appreciate what we were experiencing while seeking the limits of our machine, sometimes at the risk of our lives. It was this world that I wanted to try to relive for a weekend. And what better way to achieve my goals than to participate in the last Historic French Grand Prix, last June, a few days before the GP of Formula 1 ? A prestigious meeting therefore, organized by HVM and its co-founder Laurent Vallery-Masson, bringing together numerous single-seater fields, but also some racing races.Endurance GT and prototypes. 

In all humility, I could not see myself arriving in this new world from the top of the ladder, behind the wheel of F1 or F2 from the 1970s developing staggering powers for relative maneuverability. No. I will start at the bottom of the pyramid, in Formula Ford. These races brought together at the time more than sixty cars without aerodynamic support, for races that were more than competitive and resembled a swarm of bees. That's it
