Ronde Cévenole, the French Targa

After having organized seven editions in the form of a rally classic between 1959 and 1966, the ASA des Cévennes plans to breathe new life into its Ronde Cévenole in 1967. Inspired by the Targa Florio, Guy Goutard establishes a 45 km loop to be covered ten times, in the grandiose setting of the Cévennes national park, at the foot of Mont-Aigoual (Gard). The selectivity of the rally, the rhythm of the hill climb, the consistency of the circuit: the Ronde brings together the three disciplines of motorsport in one combined. Jean Rolland (Alfa Romeo GTA) and Gérard Larrousse (Alpine A110) are the first winners, two separate tests having taken place depending on the categories.
