33 cars at the 8 Hours of Portimão

For the first time in its history, the Algarve Autodrome will host the World Championship caravan.Endurance. An eight-hour test replacing the 1000 miles of Sebring and initially scheduled for April 4, but postponed to June 13 due to Covid-19.

Thirty-three cars are expected for the occasion. Because if one of the two Glickenhaus is missing, the Ferrari 488 GTE Evo n°57 from Kessel Racing is added to the competitors registered for the year. Lacking competition, the Swiss team is sharpening its weapons in preparation for 24 Hours of Le Mans (August 21-22), with a trio involving the Japanese Takeshi Kimura, the neo-pilot Peugeot Mikkel Jensen and the Italian David Fumanelli.

In the premier class, we will closely follow the debut of the Glickenhaus 007 LMH, at the wheel of which we will find Ryan Briscoe, Romain Dumas and Richard Westbrook. Eleven cars are planned in LM P2, with some changes to note although already made official. Filipe Albuquerque and Loïc duval retained in IMSA, they respectively leave a vacant seat on the Oreca 07 n°22 of United Autosports and n°70 of Realteam Racing. If the Portuguese will be replaced by Paul di Resta, the identity of Norman Nato and Esteban Garcia's teammate has not yet been revealed.

Finally, with 14 cars, the GTE Am category will be the most extensive. Note, on the French side, the presence of Julien Andlauer at the wheel of the No. 911 19 RSR-88 of Dempsey-Proton Racing. Brooded by Porsche, the young Habs will accompany Dominique Bastien and Marco Seefried.
