Bahrain 8H – FP3: The #8 Toyota dominates, JOTA on the podium

Third victorious test session for the #8 Toyota at the 8 Hours of Bahrain. The second Toyota and an LM P2 complete the podium for this session.

Bahrain 8H – FP3: The #8 Toyota dominates, JOTA on the podium

After a start to the session disrupted by a red flag, the Toyota GR010 Hybrid nº8 once again set the best time during this third Free Practice session for the 8 Hours of Bahrain, with a time of 1:48.436 for the trio Sébastien Buemi, Kazuki Nakajima et Brendon Hartley. Number 7 (Conway, Kobayashi, López) finished at 0.431.

Third place in the general classification went to an LM P2, the #38 of JOTA (Gonzalez, Felix da Costa, Davidson), with a 1:51.188. United Autosports USA (Hanson, Scherer, Albuquerque) took second place in the category by completing a lap in 1:51.524, ahead of theAlpine A480 – Gibson nº36 (Black, Stone, Vaxivière), only fifth overall, 3.448 behind the Toyotas.

In GTE Pro, the Porsche 911 RSR – 19 nº92 (Estre, Jani, Christensen) established itself at the top of the timesheet with a 1:56.590, relegating the second Porsche (the nº91 of Bruni, Lietz, Makowiecki) to 0.816. Both Ferrari AF Corse, called to order by the race management after their extremely slow time during the first practice session the day before, remain almost two seconds behind the German firm.

On the GTE Am side, Team Project 1 (Perfetti, Cairoli, Pera) won this one-hour session in the category with a time of 1:58.696. The Ferrari AF Corse nº83 (Perrodo, Nielsen, Rovera) and Cetilar Racing nº47 (Lacorte, Sernagiotto, Fuoco) completed the podium.
