The absence of Glickenhaus in the last two rounds of the season WEC in Bahrain had caused a lot of talk and some rumors were already announcing the end of the project. This is not the case and the American team will indeed present itself at the 1000 miles of Sebring (March 18), marking the opening of the season. The SCG 007 n°708 is expected for all rounds. “ The car is in one of our factories, Jim Glickenhaus, founder of the team, told us. We will enter final preparations for Sebring. We are essentially working to adapt to 100% renewable fuel (implemented from this season. Editor’s note) and we also install a brake-by-wire system (braking by cable). » As a reminder, at Monza last year, the American team encountered brake problems on the #709.

En 2022, the Team Cameron Glickenhaus wants to capitalize on the reliability seen in 24 Hours of Le Mans last year (4e and 5e). Above all, the American clan is hoping for a less unfavorable Balance of Performance (BoP). “ Nous jugions qu’elle n’était pas fiable. Nous avons eu une discussion très cordiale avec les organisateurs afin d’obtenir un accord équitable pour cette saison, c’est seulement dans ce cadre que nous sommes intéressés de participer. Toyota a connu des problèmes au Mans et ils avaient toujours un avantage conséquent. Ce n’était pas juste. Avec une BoP plus juste, et si nous ne commettons pas d’erreurs, nous avons une chance de gagner. »

If only one SCG 007 is planned at Sebring and Spa (May 7), the second should join the WEC field at Le Mans (June 11-12). The team is unable to confirm any other names apart from Olivier Pla for 2022, but the other drivers are expected to be the same as in 2021 (Franck Mailleux, Richard Westbrook, Romain Dumas, Ryan Briscoe , Pipo Derani), except Gustavo Menezes, retained in the LMH program of Peugeot .
