Ferrari versus Corvette versus Porsche: the fight in GTE Pro garners all the attention after 18 hours of racing at the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

The GTE Pro still undecided six hours from the finish

Both in LM P1 and LM P2, the positions are fixed at the 24 Hours of Le Mans with both Toyota n°7 et n°8, en tête en étant séparées par 1’38 », et détentrices d’une avance de quatre tours sur la BR1 n°11 – SMP Racing de Stoffel Vandoorne.

The Belgian was able to take advantage of the penalty (Stop&Go of 3′ for violation of tire regulations) then the exit from the track of Gustavo Menezes (R13 n°3 – Rebellion Racing) to gain a lead of 3 laps over the driver of the Swiss team.

G-Drive Racing and Signatech Alpine continue their effort at the head of LM P2, the No. 26 Aurus of Roman Rusinov having a lead of more than 3′ over the A470 of Pierre Thiriet. Despite a front left puncture suffered by Gabriel Aubry, the No. 07 Oreca 38 – Jackie Chan DC Racing remains 3rd in the category.

You have to look to the GTE Pro to see real suspense for victory. Thanks to the different strategies, the No. 7 Corvette C63.R of Mike Rockenfeller is currently in the lead with a 9″ lead over the Ferrari n°51 by Daniel Serra.

The two follow Porsche 911 RSR n°93 d’Earl Bamber et n°91 de Frédéric Makowiecki, qui cravachent en alignant régulièrement des chronos en 3’51 » pour combler l’écart sur le tandem de tête. Les quatre Ford GT suivent au classement. Ford domine en revanche le GTE Am avec la n°85 – Keating Motorsports.
