Porsches at the forefront in EL3 in Bahrain

Porsche semble vouloir quitter la scène du WEC avec la manière. Les 919 Hybrid ont été les plus rapides dans la dernière séance d’essais même si le temps référence reste détenue par la Toyota n°8 dans la deuxième séance. Timo Bernhard a été le plus rapide aux EL3 avec un chrono de 1’42’’438 réalisé sur la n°2 qui a déjà acquis le titre avant la finale, à deux secondes de la meilleure performance du week-end. La n°1 emmenée par Neel Jani a suivi à plus de six dixièmes tandis que les TS050 Hybrid ont terminé à plus d’une seconde, la n°8 confiée à Anthony Davidson précédant la n°7 de Mike conway.

The Jackie Chan DC Racing Oreca 07s finished at the forefront of the LMP2 category. Ho-Pin Tung was responsible for setting the best time in the category with a lap completed in 1'48''879, ahead of the sister car driven by Tristan Gommendy by half a second. Loïc duval followed a few hundredths behind in the G-Drive Racing. The Vaillante Rebellion n°31 at the head of the category before the final finished almost two seconds behind the reference in seventh position with a best time from Nicolas Cheers which preceded theAlpine A470 of Nicolas lapierre.

In GTE Pro, it was James Calado who was responsible for establishing the benchmark with a time of 1’57”972 signed on the Ferrari No. 51. Andy Priaulx placed his #67 Ford GT between the two F488s, Davide Rigon having set the third time in the #71.

Matt Griffin set the GTE Am benchmark with a lap time of 2:00 in the No. 661 Clearwater Racing Ferrari. The session was interrupted following a fire in the No. 61 Gulf Racing Porsche 911 RSR of Wainwright-Barker-Foster.

Qualifying for the 6 Hours of Bahrain will be contested from 15 p.m. French time.
